Trees, Bees, Soil and Seas

A new project is underway celebrating the confluence of creativity, consciousness and connection through international artist residencies and arts and consciousness retreats. In early 2023 retreat offerings will be announced along with dates for a new collaborative artist residency experience in the Andean mountains of Peru. Each year we will bring together interdisciplinary groups of artists from diverse backgrounds and cultures around the globe inviting us to expand our collective practices and to bring awareness, education, and philanthropic support for the regeneration and healthy biodiversity of our world’s trees, bees, soil and seas.

Sweet Release is a new collaborative body of work aspiring to express the ordinary magic and mystical muse of wide, wild open spaces. Interdisciplinary artist Denise Susanne Townsend and finger style guitarist/songwriter Jade McAloon began their collaborative journey this past summer immersed in the foothills of the majestic Rocky Mountains near Boulder, Colorado.

Working on the first of a series of writings dedicated to the exploration and celebration of creativity and consciousness, Denise reflects upon the insatiable curiosity, creativity and audacious spirit of eighteen five year-olds from across the globe. Signs, symbols and the unique gestural flavor of each child mark the fabric of their shared experience in the painting anthology Before Words initiated during a month long artist residency at the Lucid Art Foundation deep in the heart of the Bishop Pine Preserve. Denise's forthcoming analogue of correlated musings reflects as well upon the seminal acts of her youth and the slender silver thread that winds through time, place, form and feeling inside the myriad adventures that inform, infuse and direct her artistic life.
