Finding Florence

there is a certain kind of light here,

shifting with the seasons and amber in its glow

… it infuses things with its particular atmosphere,

not just on the outside,

but on the inside where its harder to hold on to

but more poignant in its insistence to keep one's eyes wide open,

to pay a particular kind of attention

and to listen unerringly for its accompanying symbol, sign or sound.
